Golden Frontier Update

I started this blog with a post about my friend's horse -- Golden Frontier.  He was purchased for $1300 as a weanling to keep another horse company.  He broke his maiden earlier this year at Oaklawn and earned a 96 Beyer in the process. After a detour to the Polytrack at Keeneland where he finished 4th in an allowance race, Golden is back on the dirt this Thursday in the 4th Race at Churchill Downs in a six horse field.  He is running in a six and one half furlong allowance race where he is in the sixth post position.  Hopefully his speed and long stride can give him the option of pressing the pace or stalking.
Did I mention that he just drilled five furlongs in 58.8 on May 16th and the second fastest time for five furlongs on that day was a Ned Evans bred filly that did five furlongs in 1:00 even?  Everyone is pretty excited about the race, and he seems thrilled to be back on the dirt.  Come by and say hello if you are at Churchill on Thursday.
